People all over are spending more time outdoors. Soon, summer will be in full swing, as will shorts, tank tops, swimwear, and more. Many of us—particularly women—will begin to fret over the body hair that sprang up over the winter. Suddenly, women are shaving their legs and underarms more, and even men are worried about excess hair.
Forget all of the expensive razors and shaving, and the razor bumps they leave behind. Don’t go back to plucking and the painful horror of waxing. Laser hair removal is a much better, less painful, more permanent option.
Laser hair removal works in nearly every area of the body. If you want smooth legs all summer long, you can have them. You don’t have to shave your underarms every couple of days. If you have excess hair on your chin, that can go, too. Even your bikini line can be hair-free. Laser hair removal is more than lasting—you only need a touch-up about once per year, or less, depending upon the area and person.
How it Works
Laser hair removal works by aiming concentrated light at the hair. This light essentially disrupts the hair follicle, preventing future hair growth for a significant period of time. Complete coverage of an area and clean hair removal may take more than one treatment. Most patients don’t find the process painful; it’s often compared to a pinch, or rubber band snap.
Afterward, your doctor will tell you how to care for your skin. There may be some redness and some people experience a mild breakout. Your doctor can prescribe some skin medication to help with this. You’ll want the area to stay out of the sun for a while, too.
