What can be treated with BBL
How does it work?
BBL exposes damaged skin to a form of intense pulsed light which stimulates collagen and elastin fibers resulting in reduction of brown spots, red spots, freckles, fine lines and wrinkles.
How many treatments do I need?
You can see improvement with just one treatment, although maximum improvement is typically seen after a series of at least 3 treatments scheduled 4 weeks apart. Sometimes the skin can further improve with more than 3 treatments.
How long will the results last?
Forever! The results of BBL are permanent, however, these treatments only treat existing sun damage but do not prevent future damage. Sun Damage is a daily threat, and fighting it requires regular maintenance. That is why most patients prefer to correct existing damage with the initial 1-3 treatments. Patients can maintain their results with a more spaced out treatment plan -- 3 treatments per year, every 4 months. These regular maintenance treatments have been clinically proven to make patients look 10 years younger.
THE TREATMENT
During treatment your eyes will be protected with safety shields and goggles. Most patients report the laser application feeling similar to a rubber band snap. BBL treatment appointments are relatively short, with the size of the area determining how long your treatment will take. For example, a full face appointment typically lasts approximately 15 minutes.
AFTER TREATMENT
After treatment, you can expect your skin to be pink and swollen. This should resolve over the next few hours or the next day at the latest. Brown spots may darken initially, but will fall off to reveal younger looking skin underneath. You may apply makeup immediately following treatment.
